art-making & self-expression for
Creative Healing
Expressive therapy engages the mind, body, and spirit in ways that are distinct from verbal expression alone. Our clinicians work with individuals of all ages and abilities, incorporating art, dance, movement, mindfulness, and clinical therapeutic techniques for an integrative approach to healing.
Individual Art Therapy
We work with all ages and have experience in helping clients with processing trauma, decreasing anxiety, supporting sensory integration and self-expression, creating healthy boundaries, learning to identify and manage strong feelings, replacing unhelpful thinking patterns, and increasing resilience.
Dance/Movement Therapy
Dance/Movement Therapy is the therapeutic use of physical movement and psycho-somatic awareness to support mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, and social integration. DMT connects us with self and others by tapping into the knowledge that the body holds, and creating a sense of safety in the body.
Therapy Groups
Small group art therapy sessions are led by credentialed expressive therapists and are based on common therapeutic goals. A one-time intake evaluation is required to participate in therapy groups at Indigo. Seasonal virtual and in-person groups are available for all ages and abilities.
Indigo provides arts + wellness programs for facilitated by visiting artists and therapists. These Sessions offer the opportunity for participants to focus on mindful self-expression and connection while learning a new skill in a safe, supportive setting. These services may be customized for private groups upon request.
Virtual Support
Indigo Art Therapy Studio is currently providing most services virtually as an option to accommodate for varying needs, enhance accessibility, and to promote public health and safety. Individual art therapy, group art therapy, workshops, community outreach, dance movement therapy, and yoga are available via telehealth.
